Stone Mountain, Georgia native Raury Tullis was only 19 -- a singing and rapping free spirit who cited the dissimilar likes of Andre 3000 and Bon Iver among his inspirations -- when he released All We Need, his first album for major-label Columbia. An EP that preceded this full-length offered a crazy quilt of slightly left-of-center folk, rap, and rock. Raury seemed like an artist in need of a merciless editor, or maybe just a label patient enough to allow for natural development. Columbia seems to be taking the latter path with All We Need. Like the EP, it frustrates almost as much as it charms, but Raury's energy is ceaselessly positive, and his potential is abundant.
Raury - All We Need Lyrics. Don't hate my brother, God is our friend I've walked for miles and I see no end To the hate, oh, to the hate And we just, sit and wait on. Raury’s studio debut, All We Need, is a spiritually proprietary record that answers the question the title seemingly asks. Lyrically, Raury becomes a lot more precise about his message than ever before, as the album promotes the simplistic remedy of love to prompt peace. Within one song, rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer Raury can seamlessly transition from a folk-tinged ballad, to spoken word, electronic sonic effects, and vocal distortions. On his debut album All We Need (Columbia Records), the transition comes full circle, with each of the 14 tracks displaying his wide-ranging talent. At only 19 years.
